Acknowledgment and Agreement
By signing this Membership Agreement, I acknowledge that I have received, read, and had and always will be able to ask questions about the following documents of the Longmont Rockhounding Club:
The Club's Charter

The Club's Bylaws
http://www.longmontrocks.org/viewtopic.php?t=41
The Club's membership rules and code of conduct
http://www.longmontrocks.org/viewtopic.php?t=38
I understand and agree that:
I will comply with the Club’s charter, bylaws, rules, policies, and lawful decisions of the Board of Directors.
I will conduct myself respectfully toward Club members, guests, landowners, public-land managers, other collecting groups, and the general public.
I will follow all applicable federal, state, county, municipal, tribal, and land-management laws, regulations, permits, closures, collecting limits, and property restrictions.
I will not trespass, collect without permission, damage property, disturb protected resources, or remove specimens unlawfully.
I will follow the Club’s Buddy System and No-Solo Fieldwork Policy during organized field trips and will comply with the instructions of the designated trip leader.
I understand that rockhounding, field trips, travel, collecting, excavation, tools, remote locations, uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, abandoned mines, and related activities may involve risks of injury, illness, property damage, or death, and that I will use appropriate clothing, equipment, tools, protective gear, water, food, navigation equipment, and other supplies suitable for each activity.
I will promptly report unsafe conditions, injuries, emergencies, property damage, or violations of Club rules to the trip leader or a Club officer.
I understand that the Club may cancel, modify, restrict, or end an activity when conditions or conduct create an unreasonable safety or legal risk.
I understand that membership may be suspended or terminated for violations of the charter, bylaws, rules, safety policies, ethical standards, or applicable law, subject to the procedures established by the Club.
I will not represent personal opinions, collecting activities, or statements as official positions of the Club unless authorized to do so.
I understand that Club membership does not guarantee access to any collecting location, field trip, workshop, event, or other activity.
I will provide accurate contact information and promptly notify the Club of changes to my information.
I understand that the Club may use my contact information for membership administration, meeting notices, event announcements, safety communications, and other legitimate Club purposes.
I agree to pay applicable membership dues and understand that unpaid dues may affect my membership status and voting rights.
I understand that this Membership Agreement supplements, and does not replace, any separate waiver, release, assumption-of-risk agreement, parental consent form, or activity-specific agreement required for participation.
I understand that the Club may amend its charter, bylaws, rules, and policies in accordance with the procedures established by the Club. Such amendments may apply to my continued membership.

Membership Agreement and Acknowledgment
The Longmont Rockhounding Club was organized and made legal on August 14th, 2026
It was made as a non profit organization. While we are not a charity, we will eventually wish to become tax exempt in the near future.
Currently we have planned meetings on the first Monday of each month with our first meeting being held on Roctober 5th, 2026 at 6:00m pm, Perkins Restaurant at 2051 North Main street. We will be in the back room.
(please refer to this description as our meeting places will change)
It is our intentions to grow and take on more and more projects as we can.
Our future plans include organized field trips, classes and lectures by local community leaders in the associated industries and fields, hold demonstrations, and eventually get to the point where we can hold annual gem and mineral shows ourselves.
But this will cost money, and we may ask our club members to donate to whatever cause we have. The only other way to do this is with membership dues, for which we don't want to charge, at least not anytime soon.
