The club shall have a bord of directors.
The board of directors will include the following positions-
President and Board Chair Ken Rowe
VP and Vice Chair Walt Dawes
Secretary -currently open-
Treasurer -currently open and on hold until needed-
Club Manager -currently open-
The first four are necessary positions to keep the club running and actively perusing its priorities and goals.
The club Manager shall be responsible for liaising between the club members and the board of directors. The club manager will have an equal vote among the board.
Associated duties would include organizing team leadership for different events, be they a simple afternoon excursion to a near by field, to a full fledged gem and mineral show. They would oversee any and all club functions accordingly.
Each board member shall be afforded one assistant who does not have a vote but is otherwise deemed capable of helping out in those duties.
Until such time as the club finds itself capable, all positions shall be on a voluntary basis, without salary or any other monetary bonus.
Organizational structure
The Longmont Rockhounding Club was organized and made legal on August 14th, 2026
It was made as a non profit organization. While we are not a charity, we will eventually wish to become tax exempt in the near future.
Currently we have planned meetings on the first Monday of each month with our first meeting being held on Roctober 5th, 2026 at 6:00m pm, Perkins Restaurant at 2051 North Main street. We will be in the back room.
(please refer to this description as our meeting places will change)
It is our intentions to grow and take on more and more projects as we can.
Our future plans include organized field trips, classes and lectures by local community leaders in the associated industries and fields, hold demonstrations, and eventually get to the point where we can hold annual gem and mineral shows ourselves.
But this will cost money, and we may ask our club members to donate to whatever cause we have. The only other way to do this is with membership dues, for which we don't want to charge, at least not anytime soon.
